FREETake a trip down memory lane and experience the heyday of Māori show bands!
During Puaka Matariki, Louise Kewene-Doig celebrates Māori popular music of the 1960s with Future Convergence: He Kohinga Pao. A multimedia installation that brings nostalgia, memories and local stories to life, highlights include a daily screening of the 1966 film Don’t Let it Get You, featuring a galaxy of Māori musical stars including Kahurangi Kiri Te Kanawa and Tā Howard Morrison. Lou will also be launching her He Kohinga Pao – Future Convergence a Digital Knowledge Basket of Music app in the space.
Future Convergence: He Kohinga Pa is supported by GigCity Community Fund, Chorus, Urban Dream Brokerage, Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision and Creative New Zealand.
