ka taoka iti o ōtepoti

Atawhai Interactive is a video game development studio based in South Dunedin. We are creating a relaxing narrative adventure game named ‘Toroa’ that lets you play as the Northern Royal Albatross, Toroa, soaring across te moana nui a kiwa back home to its whānau at Pukekura.

We create digital 3D models of many taoka species of the south Pacific and during Locations of Interest 2.0 we’ll be creating handcrafted clay creatures of these species and photographing them in places around Ōtepoti that they call home or used to call home.

At the end of each day, we’ll be giving them away on Instagram in exchange for stories from people who have memories of these ātaahua places that we share with these taoka species.

ka taoka iti o ōtepoti is the opening project for Locations of Interest 2.0, an online residency project with Dunedin Dream Brokerage that celebrates stories and places in Ōtepoti.
