KOHAFeeling a bit shy about learning traditional Māori tikanga? Celebrating the past, building relationships and sharing collective Matariki experiences and knowledge together as whānau and community, for whānau and community – it’s the perfect time to join in wānaka (learning) with Ngā Whetū Ātaahua at beautiful Karitane.
From gaining confidence in marae protocols, to testing your skills in traditional Māori games and understanding the art of hāngī prep, there’s much to make, see and do! Whatever your confidence level, nau mai, haere mai ki te pā!
All activities are free; a koha for kai will be greatly appreciated.
Monday 12, Tuesday 13, Thursday 15 and Friday 16 July activities will be at Puketeraki Marae; Wednesday 15 July activities will be held at the East Otago Events Centre, 203 Main Road, Waikouaiti.
