We are very excited to have Dr Jennifer Cattermole to guide us, and play variety of taoka pūoro (traditional Māori instruments).
At this Show and Tell, you’ll be able to learn about different types of instruments, their whakapapa, uses, and meanings. Jennifer will also help you to discover how to play instruments crafted from things found in the natural environment.
Jennifer is a maker, educator, and experienced player of taoka pūoro. She is one of Aotearoa’s leading ethnomusicologists, and young and old will love this fascinating Matariki talk.
