Coastal Flows/Coastal Incursions Kōrero

Vicki Lenihan (Waitaha, Kāti Mamoe, Ngāi Tahu), creative collaborator in artist Alex Monteith’s current Visiting Artist Project Coastal Flows/Coastal Incursions, will review aspects of the project that she is taking part in and her experiences since her initial involvement.

Taonga Species: NZ Natives

Rob Tipa (Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Kahungunu), author of Treasures of Tane: Plants of Ngāi Tahu will talk about plants associated with arts practice, and Rua McCallum (Ngāi Tahu) from Toitū Otago Settlers Museum will talk about plants used in the manufacture of material culture. There will also be some examples of artefacts made from plants fibre and materials available.
