Workshop
Take a moment with taoka puoro composer, performer and anthropologist Rob Thorne (Ngāti Tumutumu) to learn about traditional Māori musical instruments (taoka puoro), and how to play the porotiti – a spun instrument used in respiratory system healing.
Learn and achieve both a moving and a breathing meditation that also incorporates a sonic meditation made by the porotiti, and take your porotiti home at the end of the session.
These are beginner’s level workshops, so no previous experience is required. Suitable for the entire family; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
